In my opinion bolg writing did not improve student's writing skills Because When student writing a blog the tendecy of the student to writing the blog using short form is higher. So, writing the blogs using short form can damage our language, Moreover, student always writing the blog using a relatively coarse language, such as insulting or degrading a person they do not like.In conclusion, it is clearly that blog did not Improved student's writing skills.

In my opinion, blogging is a great way to put our writing skills into practice in the real world and develop stronger communication and organization skills. A successful writer knows to keep their audience in mind when writing. A good writer writes to communicate with others and writes in a language that the audience will understand. In many college writing courses the students are writing only for the teacher. Unlike writing for a college professor, who is an audience of one, the internet allows for a huge audience of readers, who bring with them a unique perspective on life. Learning how to communicate effectively with people from all sorts of backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses and age groups is one of the most important life skills a person can have. Blogging gives us the chance to practice, craft our writing and improve. Practice makes perfect; the more we do something the better we get at it.

I'm sorry Aremier Anwar but my point of view is the opposite of your's.In my opinion, blog writing will improve student's writing skills. For me,not all students practice English language in their daily communication. Most of them are to shy to practice orally with their friends. Thus, when it comes to writing, they will find that it is so difficult as they are not so familiar with English words. In the end, they'll just translate each word from Bahasa to English and obviously the grammar marks for the writing will be deducted. If they refused to talk in front of a person, then they should try blogging in English. This will eventually improve the writing skills of the students.Students can write anything such as expression, experience or any topic that they might interested.Students should not feel scared to write it incorrectly as all of us are learners and we learn by making mistakes first. If students are not confident enough to post a blog entry, try to post comments on someone else blog instead. The more they leave their comment, the more higher their level of confident will increase and it will be enough for them to post their own blog entry using their own words.Hmm...I think that this blog is an amazing blog. For me,by leaving a comment just like this,my writing skills have improve a bit as i have learn trying new words and arrange the sentence with the right grammar usage. In conclusion, blog writing is a very good start for all English learners to improve their writing skills.

for me, a blog cannot improve student writing skills. This is because, typically those who write blogs, like using words that do not carry meaning. in addition, those who write blogs are also frequently used short form and it will only weaken one's writing skills. bloggers also frequently use their blogs to vent anger or rage, that they would use harsh words and this will make habitual use of the words in their writing, especially during exams.

from my opinion, blogging doesn't improve students' writing skills as blogging the student doesn't using the proper english. they just put whatever they want and they feel in blog.... They do not concern about their grammar and only concern about their expressing their feelings....they usually use the short form in the blog to write about something.

Sorry to say, I strongly disagree with Aiza and also Anwar because blog definitely can improve student's writing skill as long as the students know how to use it in the right way. This is because blog can encourage students to write an essay or something regularly which is it have many information that can give many advantage for the other students who do not know that kind of information. In fact, before the students start to write something in their blog, they definitely will make any preparation first as it to ensure that they can write the most gorgeous essay or information. Furthermore, as blog allowed the another students or any people to give any comment on that particular student's blog, without a doubt, the students can improve their wring skill which is the comments will have many opinion or criticism about the essay or information that the particular student have wrote in their blog. In addition, there are many students who have blog that have wrote many information or essay with different writing skill, so this is a kind of opportunities for those student to improve their writing skill when they read any essay on blog that belong to another students. in final consideration, i strongly agree that blog can improve students' writing skill.

yes, blogging can improve students' writing skills. blogging is a good way to improve students' writing skills especially to those who have such creative minds. a blog is like an outlet for them to express their true feelings, expressions, emotions, opinions on a particular topic. furthermore, they can also write it creatively such as using bombastic words and idioms. to those who don't have the talent to write creatively like me, we can also learn on how to improve our writing skills by writing a blog or just leaving comments on other people's blog. this way, if you made some mistakes on your grammar or anything else, other people will point it out and thus you can learn from your mistakes. so don't be scared to write a blog or even just to comment on others, as long as what you write is not offensive and do not contain any foul or rude words. in the end, your writing skills will improve from time to time by just using blogs.

=> Blogging can improve our writing skills. Of course. With blogging, people tend to write better than at school. This is because they have the spirit and confident to write something in their blog. For those people who is lazy to write, they can do blogging. This can help them to elaboration skills, writing skill and can improve their grammar. They also can read a blog that own by other student. So, they can study a new thing. So, i think that blogging will improve students writing skill especially for us.

I think blogging can improve student writing skills.Blogging is the place that student can share their experience. They will type their essay in the blog and everybody can comment in the blog.Beside comment about the blog, they also can give some opinion to the writers so that they can improve their grammar and languange efficiently.Student also do not have to scared of they do any mistake during writing an essay because we must learn from mistake what we have doing.other person will improve that particular mistake and we can learn from it.In conclusion,i think blogging are very good for student to improve their grammar and languange skill.

Assalamualaikum. Based on the task given, I think it is true that blog can improve student’s writing skills. It is because writing in the blogs, can promote critical and analytical thinking to the students who get involved in it. Other than that, students can be a powerful promoter of creative, intuitive and associational thinking that is important in their writing skill and blog also can promote analogical thinking to the students. So, based on that, I strongly believe that writing in the blog is definitely can improve students’ writing skills.

Based on my opinion, I strongly disagree with the topic 'can blog improve student's skills?'. For me, blog is a place to express our feeling such as happy, angry or anything else. When we feel angry, sad or happy, we tend to write about anything without paying attention on the grammar. It will make our grammar worse. Then, when we write in blog, we tend to use short form because we are to lazy to write in full sentences. This phenomena is familiar in any blog. The example is when we want to write 'facebook', we only write 'fb'. There are a lot of example that we can see. Certain students will accidentally write short forms in exam as they have been using short forms frequently in their blog. As the conclusion, I strongly disagree with this topic. It bring more harm than good. :)

apparently, i have to go for yes, blog can improve student's writing skills. this is because the moment when we are blogging, we are elaborating ideas which one of the main part in writing. thus, students can practice their writing skills by blogging but of course with the good manner and way, which means no violation of language such as cursing, short forms or other else. on top of that, blogging also enhance the usage of correct vocabulary and grammar

Basically,I agree with idin’s opinion…Definitely we can improve our hand writing skills from writing blogs or journals, it's like from the infamous slogan "Practice Makes Perfect", but since nobody is perfect in this world, let's just say it this way – Practice Improves Your Craft in writing since it will become second to nature when it comes to writing. Also, it is advisable to keep an open mind and you must receive constructive criticism well since it's going to help you in the long run on how you enhance and try to improve your craft. Overall,Rome was not built in one day,so,in order to improve your writing skill you need atleast a week to become expert..^^!

INDEED..I truly agree with the fact that blogs can really help to improve students writing skills. This is true because blogs act as a media for students to write whatever they feel or think. In here, they can write their feelings or thoughts that they would like to share with everyone or just simply leave a comment to anyone they like. By doing this, students would practice to use proper sentences with perfect grammars. Why?? well surely because they don't want to be teased by their friends or families RIGHT. So, this by someway would in the end help to improve their writing skills and also lessen their grammatical errors. Other than that, by writing in blogs, students would also learn to use BOMBASTIC words in their sentences. For example, in this blog,BEL260 S2 itself students would tend to use powerful words in their comments to try to compete with other student's comments. They would do this because they don't want to feel humiliated and try to write the best comment and in some way I have to give credit to NURUL AFIFA with all her effort in doing so(DO YOU GUYS HEARING THIS?? SHE'S TEARING US APART MAN!! HAHA!! WE GOT TO GIVE MOE EFFORD AND TRY TO BEAT HER..HAHA!!). Nevertheless to say, she is a great example had she always given her best in writing her comments here and would try to use bombastic words in her comment and surely it would improve her writing skills by doing so. Last but not least, I agree with the fact that blogs helps to improve students writing skills because when students write in blogs, other people can read what they wrote and can give comments to improve his or her writings. Therefore, this would surely help to improve that particular student's writing skills and grammar. In final analysis, Blogs really do help to improve students writing skills in some weird and awkward way(OMG..WHAT AM I'M WRITING??) :)

indeed, i am strongly support the topic that had been given. blogs, which have gained awesome popularity in the last few years, are one of the most demanding communication medium when it comes to sharing and collection of information on the web.
we can improve our writing skills when writing in a blog. it is because writing in the blogs would promote critical thinking among students who get involved in writing a blog. Furthermore, blogs are also seen as exceptional educational tools that promote reflection and building or sharing of relevant and unique knowledge. for those who do not has talent to construct a gorgeous essay including with critical words, we can start from below by writing a blog. this is really suitable for those who do not has confident in writing a full essay. in blogs, student will write anything that appear in their mind. so they will also included all the hot or new issues in this world. besides it can improve writing skills, it also can broadens student's knowledge about he current issues. the student will become more progressive in his or her study too. english always associated with the use of correct grammar. by writing a blog, student can reduce their grammatical error for getting a better essay next time. student also will be exposed to the new vocabulary which they never know before. the most important part, blogging have comments.Mostly every blogging service gives you a commenting section.Comments really help a person improve.example is when a commenter offers suggestions on how to blog better, the followers will indirectly offering suggestions on how to write better. so we can share all our knowledge with others. so based on that,i pretty believe that that writing in the blog will improve students’ writing skills.

Amirul Anwar b. Mohd Solong said...

Can blogs improve students’ writing skill? Of course blogs can improve students’ writing skills. It is because blogs is an expression of feeling or to shared experience and opinion of the blogger to the other blogger or Internet user but the expression is in a form of writing, not in a form of communication like audio and video. This will directly improve students’ writing skills because the other blogger or Internet user can give any comment about grammatical error. From this, students will understand on what they did wrong in writing. Unfortunately, students always use short form writing. For example, ‘you’ become ‘u’ and ‘please’ become ‘plz’. OK, that all from me. I hope you all will improve rapidly writing skills.

for me,i'm totally disagree if blogging can improve our writing skills.Though social media networks are good social media tools for connectivity, they are spoiling the writing habits of these students. In these social media, the students use sms lingos and abbreviated languages without proper spelling and grammar. Finally, when they are writing formal letters, they find it extremely difficult to write even a 100 word communication.but, since the new generation students are highly techno savvy,i think that it is the best way to improve writing skills as social network such as blogger, facebook. twitter and others, i suggest suggested that write about of our interest, including our favourite games, sports, and musics, etc.by doing such writing, it will improve our writing skills in long terms and our self confidence also.

In my opinion, blogs can improve a student's writing skills. This is because a student tend to be more confident when writing in blogs than they do in essays which they will be graded on. As a result, they do not feel scared to write as they won't be penalized for wrong grammar usage as they would be in an essay. As time passes their English language proficiency will increase as they would try to find words that are more accurate to describe what they are trying to tell to their fellow readers. Thus a blog can improve a student's writing skills.

Since the new generation students are highly techno savvy,I agree that blog can improves student's writing skills. As for me,they can I create new blog and start writing once or twice a week.Maybe they can write about any topic such as about their daily life, music, sport, world issues and etc.Blogs will improve their writing skills in long term and also their self confidence as their follower can comment about their writing,so that it can help them to improve their writing skills whether in grammatical function or others. For example writing a narrative text, through writing narrative text can improve vocabulary, grammar, creativity and other benefits for them.In the other hand, blogs can be used to encourage discussion anytime whether in or outside of class. So,they can have their discussion among them as blogs are the space to brainstorm ideas and get feedback on their ideas from other classmates.Lastly,i'm firmly agree that blog can improves students writing skills.. (^_~)

There are many benefits for student to be active in blogging. If they are using english as the language,it can improve their writing skill. As we can see, below every blog, there would be a comment, from the followers. From those comment, student can take some advice from the comment. From time to time, when the student oftenly write in blog, they will increase their grammar knowledge, add up their vocalbsbulary and can deliver their thought about some issues. Thus i strongly beleive that blog can improve students writing skill.

Of course blog can improve student’s writing skills. It is because blogger definitely will write their post in the best way in order to impress readers to enjoy and follow up their story, wise view on current issues or advice for readers’ reflection. Blogger also can make a blog as place to practice on creative writing. I also agree with hafizul amri as students who writing a blog have to learn from mistake. They actually have to be open minded to receive other comments on their blog such as someone who told your blog post is so worst in grammar. You don’t need to be shy otherwise to find a way to correct their weakness that particular part.

Salam. For my opinion on this topic discussion blog cannot improves students’ writing skills. It is because, sometime students only writing something that they know, they not refer or learn from something. So, they are not improving their skill. Moreover, when they are writing, no one is trying to correct their mistake. So, they will repeatly do the same mistake. Beside that, sometime students prefer to write in short-form. So, everytime they write in a blog they will try to use short-form instead of long-form. This will cause them to use short-form in writing even in their exam. Next, some students when they are online, they will find the easy way such as copy from other site or use google translate. This give nothing to those students. That’s all. Thank you.

I think blog can improve students' writing skills. This is because, writing skills can be acquired when a blogger read interesting posts from different people with different writing styles around the world. In addition, one can establish a strong foundation to enable writing to write well, efficiently and quickly. Furthermore, someone can expand the knowledge of vocabulary, language development and writing. Moreover, blogging allows a person to learn proper writing techniques and understand what is written by them. They can also learn new words when reading the blogs of others or try to use the word. For students, they can apply the technique of writing in the blog when answering essay questions. This can help them to pass the exam.

for me, blog actually can improve student's writing skill.it is because blog is such a digital diaries that are a wonderful way for students to practice their writing and increase their fluency.blog is a development tool for students to express their feeling, experience or opinion in a text form.have students compose and post blogs about what play in their mind, they actually in the process of improving their writing skill where other people will tend to leave a comments on what they need to improve especially in grammar.so, it is clearly show that blogging not just a website but it can be apply in order to improve our writing skill.futhermore, students will enjoy using the computer and creating a piece of writing that will be preserve on the web.also, blogs are practical as the teacher or lecturer can easily check students' achievement by logging into the internet and read the post like what our lecturer did.!.so, students should visit and update blogs regularly which indirectly improve our writing skills.

Can blog improves students' writing skills? For me, it can be either yes or no. Why I saying like that is because there are many purpose on why people create blog. Overall, what I can see here based on this topic and our previous topic on this blog, I am confidently say that blog helps to improve our writing skill. This happen because once we writing on the same topic, surely we will need to make it different to the other, resulting in many great content that most of us doesn't even think about before. I believe that our Miss Azyyati are not just give this topic to us in all of sudden. I sure the trick behind this is it will give us ability to think deeper and get interesting idea to be written in our MUET test later. Besides, blog help to increase our vocabulary as the other student will use specific words in their comment. By reading at the other student's comments, we will improve our vocabulary as well as getting the idea that we can used in our future extended writing in MUET test as well. It somehow like a brainstorm that never end. Blog also lead us to to be creative in writing. The reason why I say like that is just by a single topic sentence, we learn to evolve it as far as we can. Eventually, we will know how to expend our essay in the future. Furthermore, as the other students rise their game, we will need get be better as well to beat them. What I mean by rise their game is the students keep writing longer and longer and have more interesting ideas. This resulting in we will need to improve ourselves too in order to reach their standard. Thus, I could say that blog really improves students' writing skills.

Why i said yes is because it also help students to practice their writing skills such as improve their vocabulary and other else.

Yes, blog can improve students' writing skills. Blogging is a medium which improves along with writing skills. It gives expression of one self an extra edge. It’s not that every one is born with great writing skills. We can say only a few in millions, but all other become writers only through practice. And blogging is a good way to practice writing skills. It’s just matter of practice, and your skill will definitely improve day by day. Blogging in present scenario is being incorporated as a part of literacy, which includes reading, comprehension and writing. Though it is not the only medium but, due to its popularity and easiness it has become one that student enjoy the most and hence take lot of interest.

Absolutely not. Blogger usually write in short form because they want to make it short and simple. Beside, they also want to make their blog looks interesting. So, they will use words like "otw" and "omg". With the use of that kind of words, it will make they write their blog easier and within a short time. Thus, it make they make their writing skills lower and lower. Beside, they have high tendency to use the words in daily live, even in their essay. All in all, most blogger usually make their writing skills more worst because of their habit that always use the language like that. Lucky, our blog is not like that. So, I hope we will improve our writing skills.

Without they realize it, they actually make some practice on their writing skills time by time. On the other hand, that particular student can also encourage their lack of confident to write an essay nor to express their opinion. Moreover, blogging can make them increase their writing technique to writes a good essay. So, I strongly believe that blog will improve students' writing to a better.

I certainly would have to agree that blogs can improve students' writing skills because it acts as a medium for students to practice their writing. Some may deny this fact, due to the abundant number of bloggers who misuse the correct form of English. For example, the use of short-forms and grammatical mistakes. However, this is a way of improving as they at least have a way of trying to continuously write in English and consequently repair each mistakes they have made along the way. Hence, I positively agree that blogs can improve students' writing skills; IF they have the willingness to do it.

I disagree with the topic of discussion. For me, blog can’t really improve student’s writing skills. Why? First of all, this is because student tend to use short form in their writing. For example Sup?’ gtg!, cmin and many more. This is bad, because it will influence the writing technique of the student especially in writing an essay. Next, student also will tend to mix some of the other language in their writing. For example “I think Asus laptop lagi best than Acer laptop ...” Furthermore, they will use wrong grammar usage because in blog, no one will angry or mark their writing. Thus, I disagree with the topic.

I agree with this topic, the blog can help students in order to improve their writing skills.Beside that, the student will learn more by using blog for their writing practice other than students practice without using blogs. For example, when students didn't know the meaning of the word the students can use google translate to translate the meaning of that word.By doing this the students can use the word which they already learn to write in the blogs. So, in other writing task students can use the word in the task. I think that all from me.

In my opinion, I agree about the topic.Blog is a good choice for student to improve their writing skills. In today's world of technology, students prefer to use blogs and social sites to write about what they want compared to write on a piece of paper. So by using the blog, they will automatically be good in writing. This is so because as more often they write, the better their writing.

I absolutely agree with that statement. For me blog can help student to improve their writing skills. It also acts as a medium where student can write anything they like indirectly it will help student to practicing their writing skill. In addition it will also add a sense for students to submit the great essays because there is intense competition occurs among students in the blog itself. Furthermore it can help the student enhance their vocabulary. Not even vocabulary, other skill including communication, speaking and other also will improve. From the reason above, I strongly agree with that statement.

Blog can improves students' writing skills. This is because most of students nowadays love to create blogs. They will write any information about their personal details, favourite topics, and many more interesting stuffs. This daily job will automatically become an exercise for students to enhance their writing skills. Furthermore, when they want to write something new on their blog they can use Google search to find some bombastic words that have specific meaning. Besides, each blog on the internet contains different topic, thus it will increase their level of anxiousness to discover all the informations and they will tend to read it thoroughly. By reading consistently, students will be able to fix their grammar level and increase language skills.

Can blogs improves students' writing skills?

I don't think so, because the blog are the place for someone to writing about his or her interest. When writing a blog, we usually just write what in our mind at the time without thinking about whether the grammar or the language that we use are right or wrong. In addition, when writing a blog we would normally use the short form word. So, it actually not improve our writing skills, but it causes us to be more familiar to use short form word when writing. Suhail said that if you made some mistakes on your grammar or anything else, other people will point it out and thus you can learn from your mistakes but I don't think there are people who will comment on grammar errors that we do in blogs.

If you ask me can blogs improves student's, without no doubt i will say yes. Then when you ask me why so i will answer it exactly like what i will write below..
First i agree with this statement is when someone writing in a blog either he or she surely will try to to use the great language so people will get interest to read his or her blog. This kind of attitude is able to help blogs writers great influences in their writing skill.
Besides whit this technology, student are no longer need to write along essay and search for someone willing to help checking and correcting their essay.
Last but not least, writing in a blog indeed is a good way to improve student's confidence while practicing writing.

From my point of view, blogging is one of the ways to enhance or to improve our writing. It does not only expresses our thoughts but also improve our writing skills. This is because we can apply the new words that we have recently learnt. Blogging can also help us to be creative as we are required to attract our viewer. If you are reluctant to post a blog entry, try it out with comment. We can also improve our writing skills by browsing other people's blog and learn their style of writing. In short, we can improve or enhance our writing skills by blogging.

It is nice to be the last person to comment sometimes. Ok, in my point of view, whether blog improves student's writing or not, it surely depends on the motive of the blog. For example, a group of students creates a blog for a place to discuss a certain topic among their classmates. One post a topic discussion while the others show their contributions to the blog by giving out their opinions ang suggestions based on the topics. This kind of blog undoubtly beneficial for students as they improve their writing skills through their post on the blog. electronicportfolios.com/blog/, www.upsidelearning.com/blog and www.envisionschools.org/site/blog are the examples of learning-based blogs that help students in their study. On the other hand, there are such blogs that only provide links to video, music and games that clearly unrelated to writing skills. Moreover, there are also blogs that tease and humiliate people using bad and foul words which will lead to such bad writing skills instead of improving them. That is all from me. Thank you.

No! No! and No! Blogs did not improve our writing skills because students who wrote in the blog are just for fun. They always used short words such as 'u' mean you,'ur' mean you are and others. Besides that, students don't care about their grammar and language when writing in blogs because they only wrote things from bottom of theirs heart without considering this things. They also wrote such a bad words for public to read it. That why I thought blogs did'nt improve our writing skills. That all. Thank you for wait.Goodbye!
