In my opinion,I favour the "final examinations" system for measuring student's progress because this system gives chance to students to improve themselves and encourages them to work harder to excel in the final examination. For example,if a student got bad results in his/her monthly tests or mid-year examination,he/she still has chance to score the final examination with flying colours. The continous assessment system will put too much pressure on students as they need to maintain their performances throughout the semester. Thus, the system that i favour is final examination system.

In my opinion, I favor the continuous assessment system for measuring student's progress as this type of system will help student to keep their memories about what they learn in lecture class. It might be stressful at a moment. But, it was first considered as it will improve student's memories. Sudden pressure like final examination will only lead to poor result achieve by students. Besides, student also can cover up their poor final examination with all their continuous assessment. Thus, I would favor continuous assessment rather than final examination.

Based on the topic given, the word 'progress' means the changes in the academic level of students. Therefore, i would prefer the continuous assessment system in measuring student's progress. This system allows teachers to monitor or observe the student's progress. Besides that, this system also can motivate students to strive for better results in their next assessment. For example, a particular student may get terrible results in his or her test, thus it will motivate him to study harder and to excel in his next test. Furthermore, continuous assessment is like a second chance for the students to improve themselves. Unlike final examinations, the students only get one chance to prove themselves that they are able to achieve good results. Students will also be less stressful when they are being evaluated based on their continuous assessments as this type of assessment gives them second chance to get better results. Whereas in final examinations, students have a higher tendency of being stressed because they are only being evaluated once and the marks obtained are final.

In my opinion, I believe that continuous assessment is the more favourable way of evaluating students’ study progress.
First of all, continuous small tests and exams during the school year do not put students under as great pressure as final examination at the end of each semester does. For continuous assessment, students’ poor marks can be supported by many of their good marks during their school year. Whereas, for evaluation based on final exams, a low mark can spoil their efforts and hard work during the year. Besides, pressure that students have to suffer during the test can also badly affect their work and test results. Other than that, final exams at the end of each semester cannot precisely evaluate students’ study progress, while continuous assessment can. Since the time allowed and the numbers of questions in each of the final exams are limited, the test cannot cover all of the knowledge that students have acquired. On the contrary, each small test at the end of each class can exactly test students’ understanding of the lesson, and thus can evaluate students’ progress and show students’ improvement more correctly. So, there is no doubt that continuous assessment is the best way for schools and teachers to evaluate their students’ study progress. It not only precisely evaluates students’ studies but also helps students improve their grades.

Actually, the best system to measuring student's progress is by making final examinations. On the other sides,to make the best decision,we have to look into the consideration. As example, students who are assigned by their teachers to settle down on their assignment probably will make any plagiarisme. Thus, they cannot get any benefit especially for the students who like to copy down any informations from internet. So,this vividly shows that continous assessment system is not one of the efficient way to make an improvement for the students.Alas, many statistics prove that 68% students who are likely make a plagiarisme fail in their examinations. So,teachers must to take prompt action regarding on this predicamnet.

According to my experience as a ex-student of Mara Junior Science College, I confirmed that continuous assessment is the best way of evaluating students' study progress. First of all, continuous assessment do not put students under as big pressure as final examination do. For continuous assessment, the test will cover only the lessons that we have learned before it but the final examination will cover all the lessons that students have learned throughout the semester. This will burden the students to study and revise all the lessons along the semester. Furthermore, a low marks in the final examination can spoil student's efforts and hard work for the exam. Whereas, a system based on continuous assessment can support student's poor marks in the exam and give them hope to pass the subject. Besides that, not every subtopic on a topic will come out in the final examination but tests based on continuous assessment system will ask questions according every subtopic in the main topic. For example, one question for one subtopic of the topic. This can evaluate student's progress and test their understanding of the lessons. Finally, continuous assessment helps students to detect their weakness so that they can improve their grades by focusing on their weakness. For all the reasons above, I really sure that the system based on continuous assessment is the better way for measuring student's progress. VOTE for continuous assessment!!!

From my perception, the final examinations are better medium in order to measure the student's progress because the final examinations are the places where students are able to show their performances on s particular subject. It is also standby-alone medium which theoretically means students are only depends on their knowledge after all, where as the continuous assessment is a copy-paste based. The assessment also can be taken from anywhere such as books, Internet and also from their friends. Hence, the student's also practicing plagiarism and violating other people's copyright. Obviously, the final examinations provide a better platform rather than a continuous assessment in order to measure the comprehension of students in certain subjects.

Ermm,I prefered continous assessment because I think it's better than final examination. Besides, it can helps students to be more understands about some topics in a subject. Final examination just give a pressure to student because i know most of them like to study at last minute. By continous assesment, it also can help student to answer final examination because it can helps student to memorize the important tips.

Final examinations or continuous assessment? For me, personally, I believe that by assessing the student continuously throughout the semester, the student will need to, if not, forced to maintain his/her academic performance rather than the students piling up on the whole semester's syllabus on just one paper in the final examinations. This is crucial as continuity in one's study is an important aspect in the process of education. Furthermore, continuous assessment is vital to ensure that the students understand the concept of what they are learning instead of memorizing all the "key points" that will be asked in the final examinations. This is an important factor to guarantee that the students will one day reap the benefits of understanding what he has learned by using it once he has stepped into the real world. Based on these two reasons I strongly favour and believe that continuous assessment is a better medium of education than final examinations.

Nurul Afifa said...

As for me, I think it is better continuous assessment than final examination because students will understand what they learn even better and they no need to cover the previous studies as they can easily proceed with another chapter. Moreover, they can memorize the information continuously and it will not be a problem for students to answer any questions. In addition, with the continuous assessment, they can identified their mistakes and learn from the mistakes. For examples, if they make mistakes in the first exam, they can learn from the mistakes and probability of making the same mistakes in the next exam is lesser. The final exam system will make the students tend to study last minute and they will burn the midnight oil. This will make the students more pressure and hence making them harder to memorize all the facts and so on. Not only that, as they stay up too late to study and memorize, it will affect their health and they will not perform better in the examination hall. This eventually will affect the students result. However, with the continuous assessment, students will be less worry about memorizing or anything and they just need to do some revisions. Thus ,for me, the better systems for measuring students progress is the continuous assessment system.

According to my experience, the best way to measure student's progress is by doing continuous assessment. This is because we can evaluate our understanding about topic that we have learned. Besides, continuous assessment ensures students not to forget what they have learned before and keep remembering until forever. On the other hand, final examination can put a lot of pressure to student to get results with flying colours. In addition, one paper is not enough to measure our capabilities about certain course. Students should do continuous assessment to check our weakness. Besides, by continuous assessment, it is easy for students to recall their past mistakes and assure they will not make the same mistakes. Conclusion, the better way to measure student's progress is by continuous assessment.

suhaimi said...

I tend to think that continuous assessment is better way to examine student potential than final examination. This is because continuous assessment will provide student with better application of what their have study, while final examination will only test on what their have study so the student commonly would rather memorize than understand what they had study. Continuous assessment also help student understand their lesson easier. In addition student will identify their the mistakes they have made during understanding the lesson and help student to find out the solution for their before too late. Thus, there is no doubt that continuous assessment is the better way to measure student progress and their understanding. Lastly i agree with those who share the same opinion as me especially with Aeuss and i vote for continuous assessment.

Based on the topic given and all the comments above,I think the best system is the continuous assessment system. This is because the system create more relaxed atmosphere compared to the final exam system.Students don't feel so stress. They just need to study as usual and don't need stay up night late as to study for the final exam.Besides, continuous assessment will make the lecturer more recognize their own student. They can help their student to improve the student's weakness. So,the students also get benefits from this system.Final examination did not provide this method because the lecturer have to recognize the student's weakness in just a single exam which is the final exam. It's hard to be done. For example, you are trapped in a conflict situation. There are two person that want to be your wife. Can you recognize the most perfect wife for you just in a single day? It's impossible. All in all,I think the continuous assessment should become the system that must be chosen by all. That's all from me.Thank you for reading.

=) As an active and hectic student,i would prefer THE FINAL EXAMINATION as the way to improve and to measure their progress. This is because the final examination covered the whole chapter. But,continuous assessment only covered one chapter only. So,if the students only focus at one topic only, they can score but they cannot improve their self in previous chapter. They also cannot memorize or they will ignore the previous topics that they had learn if there is no final examination. Then, the result of the final examination will show the performances of the students whether they focus in class or not. So,other people said that final examination final exam system will make the students tend to study last minute and they will burn the midnight oil. Moreover, they will get more tense for the tomorrow paper. For me,these problems will be solve if we study everyday and not last minute. So,I'm very confident that FINAL EXAMINATION is the best way to measure student progress.

the continuous assessment is better than the final examination when the teachers want to measure the students performance.for example, in final examination the questions given is not cover all the syllabus. in final examination the time of the examination is about 7 till 10 hours per subject. but it still cannot cover the all the syllabus that the students study.so, we cannot determine whether the student are good enough eventhough they scored in exam. however, the continuous assessment cannot be assume as the best way to evaluate the student because in the real world the soft skills is very important.

For me,both of the systems have their own advantages and disadvantages. But, as a cool student,I think continuous assessment system is the only best way to measure student's progress.Firstly,I agree with Hayat because it is true that this system create more relaxed atmosphere compared to the final examination.Besides that, this system has the potential to reduce the amount of memorization on certain subjects. As we know, some student might have 6 or more subjects that they should be attend to score for the FINAL EXAMINATION which is 40% for them to get the 'flying colours'.So,by continuous assessment system,it give time to the students to improve their weakness and to get more master on all subject. In addition,Student also will feel that exam is just like a piece of cake when continuous assessment system is done. Thus,I believe continuous assessment is the BEST.!

Assalamualaikum,

In my point of view, I would prefer the continuous assessment system as a “tool” to measure student’s progress. Reasons behind my decision are clear because by doing this, students should know that every time lecture class is done, they must really understand about the topic and get prepare for the assessment which will come in the same week or the next week after lecture class. This will encourage students to go and see their respective lecturer or tutor if there is any fallacy about the current topic. Unlike final examination, most students prefer to hold their problems and misunderstanding because they knew the exam is still long way ahead and they always said, “No need to be so rush, we still have time”. So, it will result study at last minute culture which is not a good way to study and I’m sure they can’t perform well in exam. Furthermore, maybe some students think they have master the lesson after the lecture, so doing by the assessment they be able to figure their weakness and overcome it as soon as possible. Moreover, I believe none of the final exam papers can cover the whole lesson throughout a semester, so it not the best way to evaluate students’ understanding because it maybe just test part of their lesson. Both continuous assessments and final examinations have it own advantages and disadvantages. My last words, study until the last minute but not study at the last minute.

In my point of view, I favour the "continuous assessment" system for measuring student's progress. This is because, students definitely can maintain their performance in learning process. Besides, continuous assessment also actually can reduce student’s stress during study. This is because, students only need to revise and cover a few topic out of the whole lesson for their test. So, let vote for continuous assessment as a system for measuring student's progress.

in my opinion, continuous assessment is better because students will be more frequently study and will not ignore the lessons they are learning at that time. if there is only the final examination, students will wait until the last minute to review the lesson. This will cause them to burn the midnight oil to review the lessons that can affect health and can cause lack of sleep. in addition, with continuous assessment, students themselves can identify their weaknesses compared to only final exam where students do not know what topics that is their weakness

In my opinion, the continuous assessment is better than the final examination for measuring student's progress.Continuous assessment is a good method to measure student progress because it can create a comfortable environment for study.Student will not become so stress to study for final examination. Beside that, it can help student more understand about lessons they had learned. When they had finished certain chapter, they will have some test to determined their understanding about that chapter.Furthermore,in final examination, not all the chapter will be covered. It just only covered certain chapter in the syllabus. For me, continuous assessment is the best way to measure student's progress than final examination.

For me, continuous assessment is better than final examination. This is because, as we already know, final examination only held for about several hours. So with that limited time, final examination cannot fully cover up the topic in the syllabus to ask to the student compare to continuous assessment. Next, final examination also cannot help student identify their weakness in certain topic compare to continuous assessment.Furthermore, base on my experience, final examination also make the student not serious in their study. They tend to relax and because of that they didn't worry if they didn't score well in certain quizzes or test. Majority of the student will do last minute study for the final examination. Base on the reason I mentioned above I prefer continuous assessment than final examination.

from my point of view,as a student, i prefer to choose continuous assessment than final examination. this is because, by applying this system student may know their weakness such a topics that they are poorly understand.from that, students are able to improve that particular subjects or topics by doing revision and get a help by asking their teachers.teachers also might know their students capabilities and get some alternative to improving student's achievements.by doing this, students might not too depressed when they sit for the final examination and might improve their achievements gradually.

for me, continuous assessment absolutely the better way for measuring student's progress.continuous assessment should be the better tool as it can help the student to maintain their excellent performance in learning progress.it also a quite fair system compare to the final examination.it is because, many student can perform well in each task and test that given, but sometimes they cannot perform in the final examination as well as their past test due to personal problem, family problem or maybe financial problem.so, it is so sad if their only final exam result turn to the bad future.the student that successfully pass the final examination not show that they are good all the time.it might be a coinciding.who knows.?.student should perform well in all test and examination.that's trully excellent student.!.thus, i am strongly favour the continuous assessment system for measuring student's progress..;)

In my point of view, the most efficient to measure student’s progress can be accomplished by using both systems, which are final examinations system and continuous assessment system. But I preferred continuous assessment system because we can see student’s progression whether we understand that particulars chapter in each subject. When there are continuous assessments, the student have to complete the assessments in particular chapters. Indirectly, they were doing exercise repeatedly. In such cases that student will get pressure when have to complete many assessment, the teachers can give the assessment indirectly. On the other hand, this continuous assessment system for the student to be prepare for final examination. In the final examinations system, student will study just around the corner. This will effect student's progress. Hence, I strongly believe that continuous assessment system is the most efficient way of measure the student's progress.

final examinations or continous assessment? of course i prefer to continuous assessment!! why? the first reason is,as we know, continuous assessment includes quiz, test, assignment and others.. each task will give their own mark.. so, if some student get low mark in some task, he/she still can 'top-up' their mark by another task in order to get 'A' for the subject.. unlike to final examinations, if a student get low mark, of course he/she will fail for that subject.. besides that, continuous assessment will not give pressure to student than final examinations. this is because, for assessment, student just need to study for some topic of any subject.. however, for final examinations, they need to cover every topic or syllabus for a subject.. isn't can give pressure to student to cover all of their syllabus? i think yes... next, continuous assessment make student always revise their lesson.. but, for final examinations, some student just study when the exam is just around the corner.. they will do last minute study and it will effect their result.. so, i really agree with continuous assessment to measure student progress according to the reason that i have mention before.. thank you..

In my opinion, i do favour the continuous assessment as the system to measure a student's progress. It is because through this system, student will be assessed right through their learning process. So,the lecturers or teachers can detect their students' weakness on what topics based on their result on the assessment. Not only that, lecturers or teachers can also teach their students as the students can improve their weakness as soon as possible so that they can improve their result for the next assessment.Besides that, continuous assessment can also help the students to build the diligence in themselves. This can be built by the students have to complete all the assessment by the right time. They also have to study every day to improve their assessment result and not study just during the examination season only. So,I totally agree that continuous assessment is a better system to favour student's progress.

Regarding to this particular question, I definitely favour that continuous assessment is the most glorious system for measuring student's progress than final examination. Without a doubt, continuous assessment will cover all topic in all subject. For instance, the student will be tested in regularly after they finish learn several topic in any subject. Indeed, the student can know their capabilities whether they have master that particular topic or not. In order for student to master the subject that they have learn, they also need to maintain their continuous assessment throughout the semester, thus the student will become alert to study continuously. Likewise, this system can ensure many student will easily achieve their target to become successful student. In final analysis, I definitely favour that continuous assessment is the best way for evaluating student's progress and even can help the student to become successful student.

Based on the particular question,I do favour that continuous assessment for measuring student's progress is better than final examination.Regarding to my opinion, this 'tool' will show students' weakness when they do all exercise such as tutorials, quizzes, tests an so on.Without a doubt, they will improve their way of study to 'top-up' the mistakes that they have done by asking their lecture on specific subtopic that they could not cover and build up a study group.By doing this, students not too depress when they are having an examination because they already know their own capabilities and they could master the topic earlier. In final consideration,I strongly believe that continuous assessment is the best way for students' progress as well as could help students to pass the exam with flying colours and achieve their bright futures.

From my point of view, both systems can measure student's progress, but the most significant system is by continuous assessment. This is because, student need to update their study after the lecture class so that they can improve their study slowly. by doing so, student can know what they don't really understand and focus on that particular topic until they understand. Moreover,it also will reduce the pressure to the student because most of the student always study in the last minute. Besides, continuous assessment also help the student to be prepare for the exam. So, I really believe continuous assessment is the correct way of measuring student's progress.

By doing the exercise given by teacher, they can help themselves to prepare for the final examination so that they will be perform well in final as they had already common with that such question. After reading almost all comments above, I strongly believe that the most suitable system is continuous assessment compared to final examination. The are so many reasons why continuous assessment is better. Some of them are it will not make the student become lazy to learn and just learn at the eleventh hour thus put too much pressure to themselves. I have experience this before in my secondary school. By comparing the continuous assessment system for measuring student's progress in my university, UiTM and my school before, the system used in UiTM is more effective in my learning progress. Moreover, student can improve their knowledge slowly and have better understanding in the subject they learn. In short, I favour that the continues assessment system is better for measuring student's progress.

In my view, continuous assessment is the best way to gauge the progress of a student. In this way, we can see an increase or decrease of their educational progress from time to time. If the graph of their progress dropped, we can help them from the beginning until they showed improvement. In addition, with continuous assessment, we can train students to become experts in everything that they learn and not just learn without understanding what they have learned. And the last is that they will not be easy comfortable with the time and consider time to learn it as a honeymoon time because this is the main problem for most students. Little assessment and final examination system makes them only lightly on the subject and thus caused them to fail in their studies. I think that's all from me,thank you.

I prefer continuous assessment more than final examination for measuring student progress. Continuous assessment makes the student to give their concentration and commitment almost every time during their study. But, for the final exam, students will only accelerates their effort to study rapidly when the final exam is just around the corner and before that, they might not think too much about it. It is also not fair if a student fall sick on the final examination day, thus will resulting in bad result or pointer even though the student is clever and the smart one. In this case , continuous assessment have more advantages as its give the back up and carrying marks to the students. Carrying marks that is given to students including the ethics marks. For instance, ethics marks on student’s good moral and attitudes during in laboratory session. Hence, continuous assessment will contribute to build a student that is not only have the high intelligent quotient but also comes out with skills, a team player, and good moral in order to achieve the first class human capital. Furthermore, the commitment which a student gives to complete a task for instance is very essential and can be very useful when they move into working life after graduate from their study.

In my opinion, the continous assessment is better than final examinations. This is because the continous assessment helps student to achieve a better results than final examinations.continous assessment also helps student to be aware of their performances. Next, the continuos assesssment can reduce the students pressure, this is because students can manage their time table slightly to their subjects through the semester. But the final examinations will make student stress to cover their subjects in short period. So conyinous assessment isbetter than final examinations in measuring student's progress.

Continuous assesment is the best way for measuring student's progress. This is because this system can make students have initiative to study hard. Why I am saying like that?Based on my critical thinking, continuous assessment is like a test after finished learn chapters in a particular subjects.Students need to know and fully understand about subjects that they had learn.Students will be tested by this system to make sure they maintain the performances from beginning. Moreover, this system also can prevent students wasting their time doing futile things.Actually its depends on students on how to manage time effectively. But they will feel lost if they take easy and not evaluate this system perfectly. One things need to be remember is students must deeply thinking about their future.Continuous system can help students to be more knowledgable and also avoid procastinations.Try to imagine if there only final examinations for measuring student's progress?Based on my experiences, students cannot manage time efficiently and will study in a last minute preparation to have final exams.Think about it.For me,continuous assessment is better system to measure student's progress.

Final examination or continuous assessment?
Hmm..what should I pick eh, because I would rather not have both...lol, but I have to pick one ain't I. So, if I were to choose, I would prefer the final examination system. Why? because for me by using the final examination system, fellow students still have a chance to improve their results if they had ever failed to do so in the past tests or examinations. In the other hand, if the continuous assessment system is used, a student's result in a semester can be affected by even the smallest flaw. For example, if a student failed a test in a semester, but managed to do well in his or her final examination, his or her result will still not be good enough to be considered excellent and in the end will effects the student's result, but if only final examination are used to evaluate a student's study performance, this particular student will be considered a success in achieving what a student should achieve. Besides, if we used the final examination system compared to continuous assessment, students will not get too pressured to study to maintain their performance in study as expected of them, but can concentrate on other things too, for example sports and cocuricular activities. Therefore, based on the following facts I had given, I think that the final examination system is more suitable te be used in evaluating a student's study performance compared to continuous assessment. :)

Assalammualaikum, in my opinion, the continuous assessment system is much better than the final examination. This is because from the continuous assessment system, teachers can assess students' achievement in advance without having to wait until the final examination. In addition, it also can avoid the lazy attitude in students. We know that, students usually only do their revision a week or night before exam. Thus, through the continuous assessment, the students will continuous do their revision to earn points in each quiz and etc. Furthermore, continuous assessment system can also reduce the pressure that normally occurs the student during the exam week. This is because during the exam, students will be tested on everything they have learned over the years. That all from me thank you.

For me, I believe that continuous assessment is the more favourable way of evaluating students’ study progress. The first reason is continuous assessment helps students be aware of their ability, studies, and progress. They can improve their grades by focusing on their weakness. Tests at the end of each lesson help student know whether they have understood fully or not. If they do not understand or need deeper explanation for the lesson, they can ask their teachers immediately or discuss with other students right away. The second reason is continuous assessment is more relax. Continuous small tests and exams do not put students under as great pressure as final examination at the end of each semester does. Pressure that students have to suffer during the test can also badly affect their work and test results. For all the reasons above, there is no doubt that continuous assessment is the best way to evaluate student’s study progress.

In addition, continuous assessment actually distinct show the students progress because in each of assessment they will required to be tested in each particular subtopic unlike the final examination that need the students to overcome whole chapter. Thus, continuous assessment is the best choice.

Furthermore, the teachers can also ask to top student to assist weak students in their studies.Based on the reason given it is shown that it is more relevant to use Continuous assessment system to measure student's progress.

They can give more attention to the weak student and see the improvement of the weak student. It can help to conduct an extra class for the weak student. If the student only concentrate on the final exam and study last minute it would be a pressure for the student to study the whole syllabus. For me it is better to use continuos assessment system to measure student's progress

In my point of view, i think continuous assessment is the best system for measuring student's progress compared to final examinations. This is because the students can train themselves to be competent by make continuous assessment and try to improve their performance. Furthermore, the lectures can focus their teaching on students who feel weak in a class. Moreover, students can discuss with their lecture about the question is not answered. This is a better way than make own revision. students can learn each chapter and the topics they know from their lectures. In addition, they can improve their performance when receiving scores in a quiz. they know their mistakes and try to fix the error by making the discussions with other students. Students can learn to prevent from make same mistake for next time. As a conclusion, the reasons above can shows how importance the continuous assessment compared to final examination

based on my opinion, I feel that the continous assessment is more valid for measure student's progress compared to final examinations. this is because the assessment is given monthly while final examination is just once a semester.so, lecturer can evaluate student's perfomances continuosly.moreover, students will learn and study continously since assesment will be conducted monthly. thus, students will be more confident to take the examination because they are fully prepared. i am sure that their result will be flying colours. besides that, students also can measure their understanding in the particular subject if they study continously. they also had enough time if they not compatible enough with their studies. they can study the particular subject continuosly and at the end, they will understand the subject.

For me, I would prefer continuous assessment rather than final examination. This is because, continuous assessment give the result of the assessment in a short time in every assessment. So, every week student can see their weakness and they will try to improve it. In addition, continuous assessment can shows student performance. So, student will able to find out what subject they are weak, which subject they need to give more attention, and what they should do in order to improve their weakness. Next, in every continuous assessment, student will study first before they answer the assessment. So, their knowledge will increase and they will be more prepared. Last but not least, most of the student always do revision in last minute. So, for this kind of student, the continuous assessment will be their revision. In conclusion, continuous assessment is my favour for measuring student's progress.
